Technical Writer

OnApp software makes it easy for hosts, Telcos and MSPs to build their own successful cloud and CDN services. It is designed, developed and supported by a team with decades of real-world hosting experience.

OnApp has more than 160 staff at offices in Ukraine, Kuala Lumpur and our headquarters in London, UK — and now we are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team in our Lviv office.

Skills:

• 1+ years of experience in technical writing.
• Advanced level of written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Computer Science or a similar field.
• Strong analytical and information gathering skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex topics to a technical audience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft, Apple, Chicago, or other style manuals.
• Understanding of DDLC and SDLC processes and roles; Agile principles and methodologies.
• Experience with graphics editing tools (basic functionality).

Would Be a Plus:

• Demonstrable experience in technical writing, proven by your portfolio
• Experience with project tracking, customer service and collaboration software (Jira, Zendesk and Confluence)
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies
• Experience in documenting RESTful API
• Basic knowledge of JSON and XML, familiar with HTML and CSS.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain documentation (admin guides, user guides, installation and upgrade guides) for the OnApp cloud management platform
• Document OnApp’s RESTful API
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders to gather information about the product components
• Verify the accuracy of what you write through hands-on testing
• Look for ways to innovate and improve the current documentation
• Take ownership and take the initiative when designing and delivering documentation.
